Standing before the doors of Sugamaze on August 19, 2025, I couldn’t help but feel the weight of every moment that led to this day. What you see in this photograph isn’t just a storefront adorned with pink and purple balloons and cascading floral arrangements—it’s the physical manifestation of a dream that consumed my days and nights for months.
The journey began in April when I signed the lease. Those three months between signing and opening were a whirlwind of bureaucracy, construction, and countless decisions. Each business license obtained felt like a small victory. Every permit approved brought me one step closer. The renovation process tested my patience as we transformed an empty space into something beautiful. Electrical fittings, plumbing work, the careful selection of every interior detail—each element required attention, persistence, and an unwavering vision of what Sugamaze would become.
A pivotal moment in this journey was partnering with Ramya Priya from Justpeachyeventsbypriya, who brought the aesthetic vision of Sugamaze to life. Her expertise in designing the exterior and permanent interior setup was transformative. The pastel color palette she chose for the painting created an inviting warmth, while the carefully selected wallpaper added texture and sophistication to the space. The floral decor over the counter, thoughtfully coordinated in the same color format, elevated the entire aesthetic. Her keen eye for design didn’t just decorate a space—it created an atmosphere that embodies what Sugamaze represents.
There were moments of doubt, certainly. Days when the challenges seemed insurmountable, when delays felt endless, when the financial investment weighed heavy on my mind. But standing here on opening day, dressed in celebration, surrounded by the warm wooden canopy and the cheerful decorations that welcomed our first customers, every struggle suddenly made sense.
This isn’t just a cake shop. Sugamaze represents the crystallization of passion into reality. It’s built on sweat, determination, and yes— an unshakeable belief that something beautiful could emerge from hard work and dedication.
